Altitude Pro by StudioPress is a responsive Genesis child theme with parallax effects. Because of the myriad of possibilities offered by the widget areas on the homepage, the theme is suitable for all kinds of personal and professional websites.

This Genesis theme supports three WordPress menus. The Primary Navigation Menu is right aligned in the header, while the Secondary Menu is left aligned above the header – at the top of the page. A third menu is available at the bottom, centered in the footer.

StudioPress Altitude Pro installs with three custom widgets:

More widgets are available as Genesis optimized plugins from StudioPress as well as from the WordPress Plugin Directory. You can download these plugins for free.

This Genesis child theme serves ten widget areas:

In order to create your custom homepage, simply add the widgets of your choice to the Front Page widget areas. The demo is an excellent example of the possibilities.

By default, the uneven widget areas on the homepage use a background image. You can either replace the default images through the WordPress Customizer – or put the desired images in the theme’s images folder and name these bg-1.jpg, bg-3.jpg, bg-5.jpg, and bg-7.jpg.

In case you rather have a blogfeed on the homepage, just leave the home page widget areas empty.

The Genesis panel comprises three pages:

• Theme Settings
• SEO Settings
• Import/Export

When you do not see the Genesis SEO page, you have most likely activated a plugin to handle your Search Engine Optimization.

The Genesis SEO Settings allow you to tweak the default SEO options concerning the Document Title, Homepage Settings, Document Head Settings, Robots Meta Settings, and Archive Settings. You can even enter your Google+ profile on the SEO page.

Furthermore, every post, page and term has its own meta box for SEO Settings. When you are just starting out with SEO, you can keep these settings in their default state.

The Import/Export page lets you create a file in JSON format for backup and transfer purposes. You can export the Theme Settings and/or the SEO Settings. Of course, you can also import (upload) the JSON file at the receiving end.

The Genesis Theme Settings page serves dialogue boxes to help you configure the theme:

The Information box displays the version number of the Genesis Framework. It is recommended to enable automatic updates. You can also choose to be notified by e-mail when an update becomes available.

When you use Feedburner for your feeds, you can enter the custom feed URLs for new posts and comments here at the Custom Feeds.

The Default Layout can be set to one column (just the content area), or two columns. In the latter case, you can opt for a left or a right sidebar. For each individual post and page, you have the ability to select another page layout.

The Navigation options allow you to enable an extra to the Primary Navigation Menu. You can choose from None, Today’s Date, RSS Feed Links, Search form and the Twitter Link. These Extras are right aligned in the navigation menu.

When you prefer to display Breadcrumbs under the primary menu, you can check here on what pages these crumbs should appear.

The check boxes at the Comments and Trackbacks give you an easy way to customize the visibility of comments and trackbacks on singular pages and posts.

At the Content Archives you can set your preferences for the blog page listings. You can choose to display the post excerpts or the post content. When have applied the Read More tag in your posts, then the option post content will only display the content until that tag. When you opt for the post content, you can also limit the number of characters.

Enabling the Featured Image on index pages is a matter of checking the box in front of “Include the Featured Image?”. Additionally, you can select the desired dimensions and alignment for the Featured Images on the archive pages.

Last but not least, you can set your preferred Page Navigation within the Content Archives box. You are offered two choices: Previous/Next, and Numeric.

Your choices at the Blog Page Template determine which posts are displayed on the blog template. These selections do not affect the posts on the homepage or archive pages.

The dropdown menu let you select either “All Categories”, or just one specific category of blog posts. Next you can decide to exclude one or more categories from the blog template. And finally, you can set the maximum number of posts to display on a blog page.

The Header and Footer Scripts section serves two text boxes where you can enter your custom scripts for the page headers and footers, like for example Google Analytics.

Altitude Pro allows you to set your preferred Accent Color with the color wheel of the WordPress Customizer.

Other Theme Settings that you can alter through the Customizer, are the Navigation, Default Layout, Breadcrumbs, Comments and Trackbacks, and Content Archives.
